Youth Revolving Loan Scheme

The Youth revolving Loan scheme is an initiative of the Government of the Gambia, established as a component of the Youth and Sports Development Levy to facilitate, inter alia, access to affordable financial services, promote the growth of youth-led enterprises and create employment opportunities for youths.

The SDF as the implementing partner for the Youth Revolving Loan Scheme signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Youths and Sports, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and the National Enterprise Development Initiative (NEDI) for the operationalization of the scheme.

During the Banjul meeting of 8^th January 2021, marking the end of the President’s Meet the People Tour, the Youth Revolving Loan Scheme was officially launched by His Excellency the President, Adama Barrow, culminating in the disbursement of D2.9 million to the first batch of eligible 8 youths, comprising 5 males and 3 females, for investment in various sectors of the economy.
